The cooperatives conquer Brazil

From 25 to 27 September 2019 The Wine Net met with the Brazilian market, and not only, inviting members of the sector to discover more about Italian quality wines.

The net of Italian excellence cooperatives discovers a new and exciting scenario, South America, a growing production area and catchment area of great respect for quality Italian wines. From 25 to 27 September 2019, during the second edition of Wine South America, the Brazilian fair that brings together over 300 national and international wine brands, the net of cooperatives, coming from the most prestigious Italian wine areas (Veneto, Toscana, Sicilia , Abruzzo and Piedmont), has known the leading figures of the South America’s markets. The event, which exceeded the total audience recorded in the previous year by 10% and, above all, saw the increase of the representation of international participants, with a + 30%, was born with the aim of uniting in the name of the wine quest area with Europe, on the one hand promoting the exports of the old continent to Mercosur, on the other facilitating the creation of joint ventures and collaborations between Brazilian and Italian companies.

The wine net wines and, in general, Italian wines at the event had a really good feedback. In fact, Italy is today the fifth largest exporter of the European Union of agri-food products to the Mercosur area (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela) for a total value of 266 million euros. Regarding the wine market, Brazil is one of the most promising emerging countries, with its 324.9 million euro of wine imported globally and with a leap forward of 156% in ten years since 2007. “A market to look at with attention, which has seen us completely involved and where we have had the opportunity to establish an important dialogue, profitable for the future, where the values we believe in, since the first day of our union, have emerged: excellence and collaboration, which make our 5 regions an amazing image of Italian quality wines; a message that, as always, we should sing in chorus so it could be louder”, said members of The Wine Net.
