La Guardiense officialy enters in The Wine Net

The cooperative from Sannio (Campania) is participating in the next ProWein for the first international event with The Wine Net’s wineries

We are proud to announce that early this year La Guardiense, cooperative from the southern part of Italy, set in the Sannio wine region (Campania), entered in our network, The Wine Net.

The Cooperative La Guardiense, one of the largest in Italy, was founded in 1960 by 33 farsighted and courageous pioneers; nowadays it counts approximately one thousand associates. These farmers cultivate and manage approximately 1500 hectares of vineyards situated on hilly lands at an average altitude of about 350 meters a.s.l, enhancing the cooperative to produce yearly about 200 000 hectoliters of wine and about 6 millions bottles.

La Guardiense articulates its production, in a wide range of still and sparkling wines with a great focus on native grape varieties as for instance Falanghina, Aglianico, and both Fiano or Greco.

The cooperative is under the enological direction of Riccardo Cotarella, supported by the young oenologist Marco Giulioli.

“We made this choice in a thoughtful way and we are grateful to the other cooperatives who welcomed us and made us feel part of a cohesive and very professional group. I think we will have great satisfaction together! We joined the network first of all for the quality of the companies present in the network, to build a synergy with them that allows us to bring our products and territories to the international markets, which are complementary and not competitors “ said Domizio Pigna, La Guardiense’s President of the Managing Board.
